Rock Climbing in Sydney, Australia

Outdoor BlogIf you live in a place with a relatively mild climate like Sydney, Australia, you’ll naturally wish to engage in several activities taking advantage of the great outdoors. Whether you’re planning to spend time in the city or head out into the wilderness, there’s a great amount of things to do in Sydney—one of these activities includes the sport of rock climbing.

How To Get The Kids Outside More

It’s safe to say that summer is finally here, and with the weather being so charming it’s high time to get out there and make the most of it. As the kids’ summer holidays are coming up it’s also a great time to start planning how they could spend it with an emphasis on getting them out more. Often if left to their own devices, the kids will focus on the easy entertainment such as video games or watching movies. While this is great fun, there’s a whole world to explore, so here are some ideas on how to get the kids outside more:

outdoorblog.orgA family walk in the woods isn’t as common as it used to be. This is a shame as there’s lots of fun to be had, so be sure to plan in at least one walk in the forest together. When you are outside be sure to make the walk more interesting by getting the kids involved in their surroundings. For instance, set a task like counting how many oak trees, ladybirds, small birds like sparrows or finches you see. This will build their outdoor knowledge and make future nature walks more challenging. Continue reading
